KNEC Rules You Must Follow
Punctuality
- Be at the centre early enough to complete security checks and be seated 15 minutes before the paper starts (7:45 a.m. for morning papers, 1:45 p.m. for afternoon papers).
- If you arrive after the paper has started, you must give a valid reason to the supervisor.
- Arriving more than 30 minutes late usually means you will not be allowed to sit that paper, except in rare, approved emergency cases.
Inside the examination room
- Bring your own mathematical instruments and drawing tools. Sharing is not allowed.
- Write only in blue or black ink.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, and any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.
- You may not leave the room before the official end of the paper unless the supervisor gives special permission.
Consequences of malpractice
KNEC cancels results for the affected subject if a candidate is found guilty of an irregularity. In cases of widespread collusion at a centre, the entire centre’s results can be cancelled.
