By using teachersupdates.co.ke (the site) you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What the site offers
Teachers Updates provides education news, teaching jobs, teacher swaps, opportunities, teaching resources, curriculum designs and AI-assisted planning tools for teachers in Kenya. Some features need an account. We may change, add or remove features at any time.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or help anyone else to do so;
- post false, misleading or fraudulent swap listings or other content;
- pretend to be another person or organisation;
- send spam or harass other users;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or other accounts; or
- copy the site automatically on a large scale without our written permission.
5. Content you post
You stay responsible for what you post, such as a swap listing. You confirm that it is accurate and that you are allowed to share it. You give us permission to display it on the site for the purpose of running the service. We may edit or remove content that breaks these terms or that we believe is harmful.
6. News and information
We work to be accurate, but the news and information on the site are for general guidance. Always confirm important details, such as deadlines, circulars and requirements, with the official source (for example TSC, KNEC or the Ministry of Education) before you act on them. You may share links to our articles and short excerpts with credit. Please do not republish whole articles without our permission.
7. Jobs, swaps and opportunities
We publish vacancies, swap requests and opportunities for information only. We do not employ, recommend or guarantee any employer, teacher or programme, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make. Check every listing yourself before you apply, share personal documents or travel. Be careful with anyone who asks you to pay a fee to get a job, a transfer or a place on a programme.
7A. Find a Teacher (tutoring, home tuition and homeschooling)
Find a Teacher is a connection service. Teachers Updates helps parents, guardians, learners and teachers find and contact one another. We do not provide teaching, host lessons, employ the teachers listed, or collect, hold or process payment for any lesson. Parents, guardians and teachers arrange lessons, fees, schedules and other terms directly, and are responsible for independently verifying each other before doing so. Never send money to Teachers Updates for a teacher, lesson or booking.
Teacher profiles are reviewed before they are published, but a profile is not proof of identity, TSC registration, employment or qualifications. We only describe a check as done by Teachers Updates where the profile says so, with the date. Requests, including learning requests posted on the board, must be made by adults. You must not use the service to contact children directly, to post a child’s personal details, or to ask anyone for payment on our behalf. We may suspend or remove profiles and accounts, and may review reports and cooperate with lawful requests.
8. AI-assisted planning tools
Our scheme of work and lesson plan tools produce drafts based on the curriculum designs. They can contain mistakes or leave things out. They are a starting point, not a replacement for your professional judgement. Review every draft and check it against the official curriculum and your school or TSC requirements before you use it. You may use documents generated for you in your own teaching.
9. Ownership
The site, its design, logo and our original content belong to Teachers Updates or its licensors. Official curriculum designs and similar materials belong to their respective owners, such as the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development. These terms do not give you ownership of any of them.
10. Advertising and other websites
Sponsored content and advertisements are labelled. The site links to other websites that we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
The site is provided as it is and as it is available. We do not promise that it will always be free of errors, interruptions or security problems. To the fullest extent the law allows, Teachers Updates is not liable for losses that arise from your use of the site, from reliance on information or generated documents, or from dealings with other users, employers or advertisers. Nothing in these terms limits any right or liability that cannot be limited under the laws of Kenya.
12. Suspension and ending
You can stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to protect the site or other users.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over them.
