How to apply

Participation is primarily through school or county selection. Contact your Sub-County Director of Education, County Quality Assurance Officer, or CEMASTEA for information on upcoming cohorts in your county.

CEMASTEA is implementing ongoing nationwide capacity-building programmes focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy for senior school teachers, STEM pedagogy, virtual laboratories, blended learning and gender-responsive teaching under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework. Training follows a cascade model: national training of trainers, then county-level sessions, followed by school-level cascading by trained teachers and Heads of Department.

Eligibility

  • Senior school STEM teachers and Heads of Department
  • Junior school Mathematics and Integrated Science teachers (for virtual labs component)
  • Selected through county education offices or school nomination
  • Open to teachers in counties where training is currently rolling out

Benefits

  • Practical skills in AI tools for lesson planning, content generation and learner engagement
  • Training on virtual laboratories and blended learning approaches
  • Certificate upon completion of required cascading activities
  • Multiplier effect – trained teachers equip colleagues in their schools
