This year, the Public Service Commission recruited 3,267 university graduates for the Public Service Internship Programme and assigned them to various ministries, departments and agencies of the state
Today, the interns will participate in a virtual induction course organized by the Commission to welcome them to the public service and familiarize them with the service requirements.
They will be guided through a variety of topics such as personal financial management, commitment to a career in public service, essential self-awareness skills, and work ethic and code of conduct.
According to PSC CEO Dr Simon Rototich, all 3.267 interns were chosen from various constituencies and wards, as was the case with previous cohorts.

“The selection process ensured that the recruited interns represent the face of Kenya, and was guided by merit, ethnicity, gender, disability status, minorities and the lazed,” said Dr Rotich.
When the program was launched in 2019, the Commission recruited and deployed 5,500 interns in two cohorts of 3,119 and 2,446 interns, respectively, with Sh 1.1 billion in government funding.
“We are grateful to the National Assembly for their role in allocating these resources to support the rollout of this programme,” NC Chairperson Amb Anthony Muchirl said last week during a budget presentation to the departmental committee on administration and national security.
