TSC Guide for Heads of Institutions on Curriculum-Based Establishment Access and Updates.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has provided a comprehensive operational guide that incorporates the process by which the Heads of Institutions (HOIs) can access and update the Curriculum-Based Establishment (CBE) to facilitate the implementation process of the new Transfer Module.
The Commission claims that the guide is calculated to standardize institutional data emerging and warrant proper capture of teacher deployment, subject admission, instructional classes, and Special Needs Education (SNE) learner admission inside Curriculum-Based Establishment framework.
Portal Authentication and Access Requirements.
All Heads of Institutions are expected to reach the Curriculum-Based Establishment via the official HOI Portal at https://erp.tsc.go.ke/ indicated the Teachers Service Commission.
. To log in to the system, one needs an authentic Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number and password.
The Commission observed that the login credentials are identical with the Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities system through which the system is accessed at https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/ and also known as the Teachers Online Services (TOS)- platform.
When a user successfully logs in, the system will show a dashboard that gives a summary of what the institution entails.

The Curriculum-Based Establishment update process introduced by Teachers Service Commission was described as a workflow moving in a sequential manner including the following stages:
Access the portal of Heads of Institutions.
Go to the Curriculum-Based Establishment module.
Provide all the necessary institutional data.
According to the Commission, the process still must be completed by verification and submission of information under certain functional areas in the module.
Teachers on Duty Module
There is also the Teachers on Duty section where Heads of Institutions can see full details of the institution which is followed by the list wherein all teachers assigned to the institution can be found.
The Teachers Service Commission disclosed that in cases in which a teacher is not on the list, the Head of Institution could utilize to update the records through the Add Missing Teacher option.
Alternatively, the Actions option can be used to stamp teachers no longer attached to the institution as Not in My School.
Subject Enrollment Management.
Subject Enrollment section has a list of available subjects matched to the approved subject combination of each teacher.
The Commission observed that in case of absence of the subject on the list, the Heads of Institutions ought to employ the Add Subject option to add the subject.
After updating the subjects, the system calculates automatically the load of the Head of Institution, Deputy Head load, Head of Department load, and the total instructional workload is the sum of the aforementioned.
Classes of institutions (Classes of the institution)
The Teachers Service Commission clarified the Instructional classes are offered in the module of Teachers service Commission: According to the category of the institution, the classification includes Junior School and Senior School.
Where the instructional loads are inaccurately set in place, the Heads of Institutions may, subject to editing and updating, correct the entries to show appropriate class organization and instruction demands.
Special Needs Education Enrollment.
In the case of institutions that provide Special Needs Education, the Commission said that the Heads of Institutions should record the learner enrollment data under the respective applicable categories.
After filling the Special Needs Education enrollment data, the information should be entered into the system to complete the process of updating.
Steps for Updating Curriculum-Based Establishment (CBE)
1. Login to the Heads of Institutions (HOI) Portal at the following URL: https://erp.tsc.go.ke/ the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number and password associated with the Teachers Online Services (TOS) platform.
2. When it is successfully logged in, read through the institutional dashboard that contains the school summary.
3. Go to the Curriculum-Based Establishment (CBE) module on the portal menu.
4. On the teachers on Duty page, just check the list of teachers at the institution to confirm those ones or to include any absent teachers, or to tick any additional teachers not in attachment to the school.
5. Scheduling/Assigning Subjects to Teachers: See the Subject Enrollment section to verify the number of subjects assigned to teachers, add any missing subject and have the system calculate automatic instructional and administrative loads.
6. Go to Institution Classes (Instructional Classes) to check and, as required, alter class structures and instructional loads according to the type of institution.
7. Where necessary, fill in Special Needs Education (SNE) learner enrollment form and store information.
8. Lastly, documents all compliant and revised Curriculum-Based Establishment information to complete the process in support of the Transfer Module.
