Princeton in Africa places young graduates in year-long, paid fellowships with organisations working across Africa. Host organisations include the African Leadership Academy and the International Rescue Committee, and past placements have focused on education and youth capacity building. Applicants apply to the programme, not to a specific post, and are matched by skills.

The Nexus track is for African citizens living in Africa who studied at African universities. Note that the fellowship is not teaching-specific, so it suits graduates open to programme management, communications or grant-writing roles in education organisations.

Eligibility

  • African citizens residing in Africa who are recent graduates or graduating seniors of a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD from an African university (Nexus track)
  • Valid passport through the end of the fellowship year (August 2028)
  • Available for the full 12 months

Benefits

  • 12-month paid fellowship, June 2027 to August 2028
  • Placement with a host organisation matched to your skills
  • Support from PiAf staff, alumni and other fellows
