How to apply

There is no public application link. Registration is handled through the association’s own structures. A January 2026 report on a regional invitation said delegates were asked to register by 30 January 2026 and pay a conference fee of KSh 45,000, with KSh 10,000 going to the sub-county offices. Do not publish this as the current fee without confirming it. Interested heads should contact their sub-county or branch KECSHA office.

KECSHA is holding its annual AGM and conference in Mombasa from 9 to 12 November 2026. The Co-operative Bank of Kenya sponsored the event with KSh 7 million, and more than 15,000 delegates from comprehensive schools across the country are expected. The event is a major gathering where school heads and education stakeholders meet, share experiences and discuss school management and the delivery of education. KECSHA is the new name of the former Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA), which was rebranded in line with the 2023 education reforms report.

Deadline: Registration closed earlier (30 January 2026, according to the regional report). The event starts on 9 November 2026.

Eligibility

The conference is for heads of comprehensive schools. Delegates are drawn from comprehensive schools across the country. In practice this means head teachers who are members of the Kenya Comprehensive Schools Heads Association (KECSHA).

KECSHA is the new name of the former Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA). The rebranding followed the 2023 education reforms report, which brought junior secondary schools into primary institutions.

Education stakeholders and exhibitors also attend. The 2025 conference attracted international exhibitors from Germany, Brazil and the USA. I did not confirm whether exhibitors can register for 2026 or how.

Benefits

  • Networking and shared learning: the event lets school heads and education stakeholders meet, share experiences and discuss issues in the management and delivery of education.
  • The AGM: members take part in the association’s annual general meeting. The poster presents it as a combined AGM and conference.
  • Exhibitions: the conference has traditionally included exhibitors showing education products and innovations, including ICT, foundational numeracy and digital learning in 2025. This is not confirmed for 2026.
  • Scale: more than 15,000 delegates are expected, so it is one of the larger education gatherings of the year.
