The Ministry of Education has released the 2027 National and Post-National Co-curricular Activities Calendar. Term 1 school games will be held in Machakos from 8 to 15 April 2027. The Kenya Music Festival will be held in Kisii and the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair in Mombasa. The calendar also sets dates for the teachers training colleges games and for the FEASSA and East Africa music, dance and drama events.
The circular is addressed to Regional, County and Sub-County Directors of Education, all public and private university Vice Chancellors, and the principals of teachers training colleges and TVET institutions. It is signed by Principal Secretary John L. Ololtuaa, CBS.
Term 1 school games, 8 to 15 April 2027
The Term 1 national games are hosted by the Eastern region in Machakos County. All categories share one schedule.

Other Term 1 events
National Drama and Film Festival. 9 to 21 April 2027 in Embu County. The clinic runs 9 to 10 April and teams arrive on 9 April. The opening ceremony is on 11 April at Embu University. The closing date is 15 April and departure is 16 April.
Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (junior and secondary). 28 March to 4 April 2027 at Shimo La Tewa, Mombasa, in the Coast region. Teams arrive on 28 March and the clinic is on 29 March. The opening ceremony is on 30 March, action days run 29 March to 3 April, and teams depart on 4 April.

The Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) camp and championship runs from 17 August to 3 September 2027. The training camp venue is yet to be announced.

- The games are hosted in Kigali. Teams arrive on 23 August, action days run 24 August to 2 September, and teams depart on 3 September.
The East Africa Music, Dance and Drama event is hosted by Uganda from 18 to 28 August 2027. Teams arrive on 18 August, action days run 19 to 27 August, and teams depart on 28 August.
Instructions to education offices
Regional Directors of Education must make enough copies of the calendar for the basic education institutions in their jurisdiction. They must also ensure that field officers and schools use it when organising sub-county, county and regional co-curricular competitions.
