Budalang’i School Deputy Principal Killed in Accident
On Wednesday, a deputy principal from a Budalang’i high school was killed in an accident on the Bumala-Butula road.
Simiyu Nyundo Odokano, deputy principal of Sisene High School in Budalang’i Constituency, was riding as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle when it collided with a cyclist.
Jacob Chelimo, the sub-county police chief in Butula, confirmed the incident. The body was transported to a morgue in Siaya County.
Elsewhere, two people were killed in a horrific accident on the Meru-Nairobi highway in the Kambiti area.
Alexander Shikondi, the police commander for Murang’a South Sub-county, confirmed that two people died on the spot.
According to Shikondi, the accident occurred when a lorry’s brakes failed while driving from Kenol along the Kenol-Sagana highway in the Kwa Muthike area.
A 28-year-old woman and the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident were killed.
The lorry then collided with several other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
An unknown number of students were injured while riding in a public service vehicle that was involved in the accident.
