A police investigation has been initiated after the death of a 17-year-old boy in Gesima, Masaba North, Nyamira county.

Samuel Rioba, a student in Form Three at Nyakongo Boys High School, was electrocuted at his home while hanging clothes on a line that was connected to a power cable. The incident took place during Rioba’s mid-term break at approximately 6:30 PM.

After the electrocution, Rioba’s family quickly transported him to Keroka hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. The body was then transported to the hospital mortuary in Keroka, where it will be subjected to a postmortem examination.
