Magoha Dismissed Atwoli’s Son From UoN, COTU Boss Reveals
Francis Atwoli, the Secretary General of the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU), recently spoke about the late Professor George Magoha, who passed away recently, and described him as a man who was resolute in his decisions.
Atwoli, who was addressing the press at Magoha’s residence in Nairobi, shared a story from when Magoha was serving as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi and dismissed Atwoli’s son from the university.
Atwoli explained that Magoha called him one day and said, “I don’t want your son in my university anymore.” Even though Atwoli tried to use his influence and negotiation tactics, Magoha’s decision was final and he refused to change his stance.
Atwoli did not provide any reasons as to why his son was being dismissed, but said, “He told me, Francis I have said no and my no is no, take your son to another university in the country.”
The Secretary General also stated that Magoha was an incorrupt and outright person, who would be buried without even a shilling stolen from anyone.
He said, “We, in the World of work know who is corrupt and who is not because we are represented everywhere. Nobody will come here and say I bribed him to do for me this and that.”
In conclusion, Atwoli described Professor George Magoha as a man who was resolute in his decisions and not swayed by influences or negotiations.
He also praised him for his integrity and honesty, stating that he was an incorrupt and outright person who would be buried without any stolen money.
