Govt Unveils New Hotline for Urgent Passport Processing

The Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government recently announced the introduction of a new hotline for urgent passport processing, aiming to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of government services provided to Kenyan citizens.

This initiative comes as a part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to better serve the public.

In a statement released by the ministry, it emphasized that the newly established system would enable the government to offer swift responses and cater to the urgent passport processing needs of individuals.

By launching this hotline, the ministry aims to streamline the passport application process, ensuring that Kenyan citizens receive the assistance they require promptly.

Contact Information for Urgent Passport Processing

To access urgent passport processing services, citizens can now contact the government through the hotline number +254796347902.

Additionally, alternative hotlines +254110922064 or +254110923423 can be utilized for this purpose.

Those who prefer email communication can reach out to the department at info@immigration.go.ke.

The Directorate of Immigration Services expressed its commitment to serving Kenyans in the statement.

The department reiterated its dedication to facilitating urgent passport processing and urged applicants to provide necessary documents as proof of urgency.

The objective is to ensure that citizens in critical situations receive the attention and support they need promptly.

Multiple Channels for Assistance

Apart from the hotline and email options, applicants can also visit the customer care desk or counter 16 or 17 for in-person assistance.

The department’s working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, enabling applicants to seek help during regular business hours.

Previously, the department could be contacted through different phone numbers, namely +254 110 923 422, +254 110 923 423, and +254 110 922 065.

With the introduction of the new hotline, these contact numbers have been replaced.

On April 5, Julius Bitok, the Principal Secretary (PS) of Immigration and Citizen Services, announced that the government had acquired over 100,000 passport booklets to address a significant backlog that had caused dissatisfaction among applicants.

This acquisition was implemented as an urgent measure to enhance service delivery and expedite the passport issuance process.

Julius Bitok emphasized that the introduction of printing booklets was a crucial step towards addressing delays in passport issuance.

By increasing the availability of passport booklets, the government aims to streamline the application process and meet the growing demand efficiently.
