University Course Application & Revision Ends on Wednesday
The deadline for application and course revisions for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates is quickly approaching.
Students are required to submit their applications through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal, which opened on May 17, 2023.
The limited timeframe of three weeks was given to students to apply for courses in various institutions.
Education CS Ezekiel Machogu expressed the need to promptly open the KUCCPS portal for student applications during its launch at the University of Nairobi on May 3, 2023.
Machogu commended KUCCPS for meeting all requirements, including the publication of fees details for all programs.
Furthermore, he assured students that the placement service would allocate all qualified candidates to their respective programs.
Program Options and Support Services:
According to CS Machogu, a staggering total of 173,127 candidates who achieved a C+ grade or above are eligible for degree programs.
Students with a C plain grade or below will be absorbed into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
However, those with a C+ grade or above are not restricted from applying for courses in TVETs if they wish to do so.
To ease the application process, the Ministry of Education has collaborated with the Huduma Secretariat, allowing students to apply for programs at all 52 Huduma centers.
Officials at these centers will provide assistance to students during the application process.
Moreover, KUCCPS will dispatch teams to selected universities to offer additional support.
Capacity to Accommodate Students:
CS Machogu confidently stated that the government possesses the capacity to admit all eligible students.
This assertion underscores the commitment of the government to ensure that every qualified candidate has the opportunity to pursue higher education.
By making various resources and support services available, the government aims to facilitate a smooth application process for the 2022 KCSE candidates.
