TSC Vacancies for Principals, Head Teachers, Deputy Teachers & Senior Masters
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is a Constitutional Commission mandated under Article 237 of the Constitution.
One of its key responsibilities is to appoint and deploy institutional administrators.
In accordance with this mandate, the Commission is now accepting applications from suitably qualified teachers for various positions in secondary and primary schools.
This article provides an overview of the available vacancies and their requirements.
Advert No. 31/2023: Principal (Regular Secondary School)
Number of Posts: 349 T-Scale: 13
To be eligible for appointment as a Principal (Regular Secondary School), candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have served as Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I T-Scale 12 for a minimum of two (2) years.
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise, mentor, and provide professional support to other teachers.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- Fulfill any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. Note: Those who attended interviews between 20th and 31st March 2023 need not reapply.
Advert No. 32/2023: Principal (SNE Secondary School)
Number of Posts: 11 T-Scale: 13
For appointment as a Principal in a Special Needs Education (SNE) Secondary School, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have served as Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I T-Scale 12 for a minimum of two (2) years.
- Possess at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the relevant area of specialty).
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise, mentor, and provide professional support to other teachers.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- Fulfill any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

Number of Posts: 9 T-Scale: 13
To be considered for appointment as Deputy Principal I, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have served as Deputy Principal II or Senior Master I T-Scale 12 for a minimum of two (2) years.
- Possess a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- Fulfill any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
Advert No. 34/2023: Deputy Principal II
Number of Posts: 363 T-Scale: 12
Candidates aspiring to become Deputy Principal II must fulfill the following requirements:
- Have served as Deputy Principal III or Senior Master II T-Scale 11 for a minimum of three (3) years.
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- Fulfill any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
Advert No. 35/2023: Deputy Principal III (SNE Secondary School)
Number of Posts: 13 T-Scale: 11
For appointment as Deputy Principal III in a Special Needs Education (SNE) Secondary School, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have served as Senior Master III/Senior Lecturer III T-Scale 10 for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Hold at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the relevant area of specialty).
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- Fulfill any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.
Advert No. 36/2023: Deputy Head Teacher II (Regular Primary School)
Number of Posts: 2,568 T-Scale: 9
To be eligible for appointment as Deputy Head Teacher II in a regular primary school, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Have served as Senior Teacher I T-Scale 8 for a minimum of three (3) years.
- Possess a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise, mentor, and provide professional support to other teachers.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
- Fulfill any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. Note: Those who attended interviews between 20th and 31st March 2023 need not reapply.
Successful candidates will be required to present valid Chapter 6 documents before their appointment is finalized.
