TSC: CBC Training Programme For Secondary School Teachers.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is currently training teachers from both public and primary schools, as well as Special Needs Education (SNE) institutions, to handle grades 7, 8, and 9 in preparation for Competency Based Assessment (CBA), which is set to begin in November 2022.


The following is the schedule of activities for the training, which will run from Monday, May 9 to Thursday, May 12.

8.00 – 8.10 am Arrival and Registration –

10:00­10:30 am – Overview of Competency –Based Assessment Framework(CBAF)

11:00­ 11:30am – Overview of Competency –Based Assessment Framework (CBAF)  

11:30­12:30pm – Interpretation of the Curriculum Designs (Essence statement, Strands, Sub­ strands,)

·       Developing Specific Learning Outcomes

·       Community Service Learning (CSL)

12:00-­1:00pm: Junior Secondary school Subjects;

  • Languages (English, Kiswahili and Indigenous languages)
  • Foreign Languages (French, German, Arabic and Mandarin)
  • Mathematics and Integrated Science

  • Applied sciences (Agriculture, computer science, home science and Health Education)
