TSC Recruitment Interviews Concludes; Teachers to Report to Schools by 30 Jan

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) chief executive officer, Nancy Macharia, announced that the 30,000 additional teachers are anticipated to be hired by January 30, 2023.

On Friday, January 20, Macharia addressed at Mtihani House, where the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2022 results were announced.

“We are currently recruiting 30,000 teachers. Interviews for those shortlisted are set to be concluded today paving the way for the posting of successful teachers.” Said Macharia.

She stated that the interviews for the new teachers will conclude today, January 20.

She reassured the nation that the process was conducted without bias and in accordance with the Constitution’s values and principles.

“It is our intention to have the new recruits join the payroll on January 30th, the same day when the Junior Secondary.” TSC boss said.

TSC assured the nation that this process has been performed independently and professionally in accordance with the Constitution’s Values and Principles.

“I thank all the stakeholders who have worked round the clock to ensure we professionally conduct the interviews in the biggest teacher recruitment since the late 1990s.” Macharia concluded.

Bernard Abuga, Mwala Sub-county Director of the Teachers Service Commission says the recruiting was fair.

Abuga indicated that applicants over 50 and those who graduated before 2010 will be prioritized.

The TSC Director claimed the recruiting process was fair and without canvassing or corruption.
