TSC Recruitment: Intern Teachers Dealt A Blow, DPTE Graduates Get Rewarded

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has released the final and most recently updated score sheet for post-primary teacher recruitment in 2022. According to the recruitment score sheet seen by teachersupdates.co.ke, applicants who served for the internship will not be assigned uniform grades.

Previously, any teacher who could show evidence of internship received a whopping 30 points. This gave them an advantage over the other applicants.

Only teachers who have served for three years will receive 15 points, in an unlikely turn of events. Interns who have served for two years and one year will receive 10 and 5 points, respectively.

On the other hand, teachers who have received a CBC upgrade certificate will have an advantage in the upcoming TSC July recruitment.

When applying for the advertised positions, primary school teachers must indicate whether they have a CBC Upgrade Certificate.

Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (CBC Upgrade) has an advantage of 10 marks.

The applicant must also declare that the information in the application is true.

“I hereby declare that the information in this application is true to the best of my knowledge. I am also aware that any false information will lead to direct disqualification/disciplinary action without further reference to me by the Teachers Service Commission,” read instruction in the tsc portal.

Sub-County Selection Panel for Primary Schools (5 Members)

The Selection Panel shall be comprised of the following members:

i) The Sub-County Director-Chairperson (1)

ii) TSC Sub County Human Resource Officer-Secretary (2)

iii) Zonal Curriculum Support Officers (3) 

The TSC Sub-County Director MUST ensure that the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 containment measures or any other pandemic as may be advised by the Ministry of Health are adhered to by both panel members and the applicants at all times.

SELECTION PANEL FOR Post Secondary INSTITUTIONS WITH BOMs (TOTAL 5)

(a) Chairperson, Board of Management – Chairperson 

(b) Head of the Institution – Secretary 

(c) Subject Specialist – Member 

(d) Parent Association (PA) Chairperson – Member 

(e) TSC County Director/ Representative – Member
