TSC Number Application Process Ahead of Teachers’ Mass Recruitment
President William Ruto declared on December 1 that the government will begin to recruit 30,000 teachers in January 2023.
Because the JSS curriculum is secondary, priority will be given to unemployed teachers with certifications to teach in secondary schools during the recruitment of the 30,000 instructors.
These people have a diploma or a bachelor’s degree in education.
The TSC is expected to post the vacancies this month, with teachers reporting to work on January 23, 2023.
Furthermore, the commission intends to redeploy JSS-qualified primary school teachers who possess the relevant credentials.
17,000 teachers are expected to have a diploma or a bachelor’s degree.
The Kenya Kwanza manifesto promised to hire 58,000 teachers over two fiscal years at a cost of Sh25 billion each year.
The TSC was given the task of designing recruitment procedures.
One suggestion is to hire teachers on a contract basis rather than permanent and pensionable posts.
This would save the government money while still obtaining the desired benefits.
According to a message from the statehouse, massive recruiting was needed by the country’s severe teacher shortage and the necessity to implement the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
To be eligible for Teachers Service Commission recruitment, one must have a TSC number. Teachersupdates.co.ke examines the application procedure for the TSC number.
