TSC Internship Vacancy Slots For Secondary Schools – MARCH, 2023

The Teachers Service Commission invites qualified applicants to apply for 450 internship positions in secondary schools. Candidates who are interested and qualified must submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke before March 22, 2023.

ELIGIBILITY


To be eligible for employment, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
I Be a Kenyan citizen; ii) Hold at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent; iii) Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.


GENERAL INFORMATION

I) Only online applications will be considered.
ii) The Commission’s Recruitment Guidelines for the Recruitment of Teacher Interns for the 2022/23 Financial Year (Post Primary Institutions) shall be applicable.
iii) Successful applicants will be required to submit original academic and professional credentials.
iv) The selection of candidates will be based solely on merit and the number of available positions per county.

v) Applicants who have previously held permanent and pensionable positions with the Teachers Service Commission, as well as those who have participated in the TSC internship program, are ineligible.

vi) An applicant may submit applications to two schools where vacancies have been declared.

ii) Successful candidates should not accept more than one Internship Engagement. Accepting two or more internship offers will result in disqualification.
viii) Successful candidates must have Personal Accident Insurance to cover personal risks during the internship period.

a) The Teacher Internship Programme aims to develop and maintain the competencies of individuals entering the teaching profession through a one-year programme.

The programme assigns educational institutions with unemployed registered teachers, who will enhance their teaching experience through mentoring, coaching, and practical teaching experience.

b) During verification/interviews, applicants must present the following items.

  • A copy of the Teacher Registration Certificate/print-out from the TSC online portal as evidence of registration as a teacher;
  • Copy of the National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (where applicable);
  • A copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport;
  • Two (2) color passport size photographs;
  • A copy of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card;
  • Copy of the Kenya Revenue Authority Personal (KRA PIN).

DURATION OF INTERNSHIP
The duration of the internship will be twelve (12) months.
