TSC honored as Top Public Sector in Tax Compliance
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has been honoured again this year as the top public sector category this year went to
TSC was described as the public entity that demonstrates the best levels of tax compliance through consistent filing and prompt payment of all taxes.
Present during Friday KRA’s Taxpayers event held at the KICC was President William Ruto.
Ruto said every Kenyan citizen with a national identity card (ID) would be obliged to have a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) pin number.
He said this would assist the Authority in enhancing tax compliance measures in an effort to raise tax revenue.
“There will be no exemptions. There will be a fair tax regime where everybody is treated equally …I am determined to ensure that our tax system is responsive to the needs of the new era in Kenyan tax administration. I commit to becoming your ambassador by leading Kenyans in paying taxes.”
Other Companies feted includes;
Premier Credit, a company that provides loans to individuals, small, and medium-sized businesses, was honored in the category for medium players, while Living Goods Limited was honored in the area for small players.
The award for top importer – petroleum was given to the importer of petroleum products who paid the most import taxes. Presented to Vivo Energy Kenya Limited
Top AEO Importer award was given to the Authorized Economic Operator with the highest import taxes paid and who complies with all customs laws and procedures. This prize was presented to CFAO Motors Kenya Limited.
The Most Improved Taxpayer Award presented to the taxpayer whose total tax payment increased the most relative to the previous fiscal year. This honor went to Isuzu East Africa Limited
The Top Non-Petroleum Importer award given to the importer of non-petroleum items who paid the highest import taxes and complied with all customs laws and procedures. The winner is Edible Oil Products Limited
The Top Exporter award goes to the exporter who did the most exports worth the most money and followed all customs rules. Presented to Lab International Kenya Limited
Top Regional MSME Taxpayer Award is given to the leading taxpayers in each of Kenya’s seven tax administration regions who paid the greatest total amount of taxes.
The award for Best MSME Taxpayer in the Nairobi Region goes to Boston Consulting Group (Kenya) Limited.
Cosco Shipping Lines (Kenya) Limited has been named the Best MSME Taxpayer in the Southern Region.
The prize for Top Taxpayer goes to Safaricom PLC
Top Taxpayer Category Award is presented to taxpayers who are the top tax payers in the country and who have paid the highest total amount of taxes across all tax heads.
