TSC Effects Principals Mass Transfers; List of Affected Schools

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has recently implemented a massive transfer of National, Extra County, and Sub-County school principals across the country.

The mass transfer affects 14,613 teachers and is part of the commission’s delocalization policy, which began four years ago.

According to TSC Secretary Dr. Nancy Macharia, 12,019 teachers will be placed in inter-country transfers and 2,594 teachers in inter-regional transfers. Of these, 226 are high school principals.

The transfer will be executed by the Regional Director of Education for inter-country transfers and by the Commission headquarters for inter-regional transfers.

This transfer will impact several schools, with new principals taking over from retiring or transferred individuals.

For example, Manoah Mwambwa Whycliffe has been transferred from Sori Secondary to head Ramba Boys High School, while Florence Achieng Omondi will take over at Ng’iya Girls in Siaya county.

Veronica Wahome was moved from Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls in Nyeri to Kenya High School, while Kakamega High School Principal Gerald Orina is moving back to his home county of Kisii.

Oliver Minishi, the Nanyuki High School chief principal, has retired, making way for Solomon Koech from Kangaru School.

Paul Weloba from Shikunga Secondary School in Kakamega county has been appointed to head Friends School Kamusinga in Bungoma county.

Mathews Linge has retired from Ofafa Jericho, Nairobi, and his place will be taken by Anthony Thuo from Miwani High School.

Huruma Girls head Grace Macharia will be heading to St Georges Girls Nairobi, while Caroline Maina, the Buru Buru Girls School Principal, is retiring and will be replaced by Stella Wambua from AIC Sengani Girls, Tala in Machakos.

Leonard Karau, the Daiga Secondary School Principal, has been transferred to a school in Ntrimiti near Kisima in Buuri sub-county, Meru county.

Several other schools will also be affected, including Sori Boys Secondary in Nyatike, West, Kwibancha Girls, Ntimaru, Moi Nyatike Secondary, and Okenge Mixed.

The transfer of Simon Mutahi Chesebe, the Tenwek High School Chief Principal, was cancelled and he was retained in his current station as principal and teacher of Kiswahili/History.

Richard Sang has left Kaplong Boys High School to Kabianga High School in Kericho to replace Dr. Joash Aloo.

Isaac Okeyo, the Koderobara CEO, has taken over from James Momanyi at Agoro Sare High School, while St. Mary’s Mabera Girls has moved to St. Charles Lwanga, Ichuni.

In conclusion, the TSC’s mass transfer of school principals is a significant step in the commission’s delocalization policy.

The transfer will impact several schools and individuals, with new principals taking over from retiring or transferred individuals.

This transfer is aimed at improving the education system and ensuring that the schools are being led by capable individuals.
