TSC Advertises 450 Internship Vacancies For Secondary Schools; How to Apply

The Teachers Service Commission has announced 450 internship vacancies for qualified candidates in public secondary schools.

The application process is online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke. The deadline for submissions is 22nd March 2023.

To be eligible for recruitment, candidates must be Kenyan citizens. They must hold at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects in KCSE or its equivalent. Lastly, they must be registered teachers with the Teachers Service Commission.

TSC will consider candidates on merit and select them based on the number of vacancies per county. The commission warns that it will not consider manual applications.

Candidates who the commission shortlist must present their original academic and professional certificates.

Successful candidates must not take more than one offer of internship engagement, and taking two or more offers of internship engagement will lead to disqualification.

The organizers designed the Teacher Internship Programme to equip and sustain the competencies of persons entering the teaching service for one year.

The programme will target unemployed registered teachers, and learning institutions will assign them to enhance their teaching experience through mentorship, coaching, and practical teaching exposure.

The internship period will be for twelve (12) months. Successful applicants will have a Personal Accident Insurance to cover for personal risks during the internship period.
