KEMI Invites Teachers For April TPD Training.
Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) is a Management Development Institute that serves as the Ministry of Education’s Capacity Building Agency.
Under Legal Notice No. 19/2010, KEMI is mandated to conduct leadership and management training, research, and consultancy in the education sector.
KEMI has been accredited by the Teachers Service Commission to provide Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programs to registered teachers in public and private primary and secondary schools, trainers in tertiary institutions, and instructional leaders in public and private institutions.
The TPD program’s overall goal is to professionalize teaching by continuously developing and improving teachers’ skills, competencies, and knowledge in accordance with the 21st Century core competencies aimed at improving the provision of quality education.
KEMI Invites Teachers For April TPD Training.
To: Heads of Institutions, Teachers
RE: INVITATION FOR TRAINING OF TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (TPD) SESSION 2.
Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) is a Management Development Institute that serves as the capacity building agency of the Ministry of Education.
KEMI is mandated under Legal Notice No.19/2010 to provide Education Management Training, conduct Research and offer Consultancy Services in the Education Sector.
KEMI is accredited by Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to offer TPD services to registered teachers in both Public and Private Education Institutions. The first training session was conducted in December 2021.
The Institute has scheduled the 2nd online session from 11th-14th April 2022.
The purpose of this letter therefore, is to invite Heads of Institutions and Teachers registered with KEMI for the on-line training.
You are therefore requested to update your payment to Kshs.2,000.00 by the commencement of the second session.
We appreciate your partnership with KEMI.

TPD stands for life-long teacher learning and includes a wide range of educational experiences aimed at improving teachers’ professional knowledge, understanding, and application of the concept throughout their teaching careers.
As with other professions, the TPD program will provide Kenyan teachers with global compliance to acceptable standards.

The TPD Program’s goals are as follows:

Instilling in teachers and instructional leaders a culture of life-long learning. Promoting the personal and professional development of teachers and instructional leaders.
Increasing the capacity of teachers and instructional leaders to act as action researchers in their classrooms. Increasing teachers’ and instructional leaders’ capacity as reflective practitioners.
TPD training content is based on the Kenya Professional Teaching Standards (Seven (7)). (KePTS).
