Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential candidate, unveiled his ten commandments on Monday.

To begin, the Azimio leader promised free education from kindergarten to university. In his plan to improve educational quality, he promised to employ all unemployed but trained teachers.

Odinga stated that he will ensure that all unemployed trained teachers are hired in order to improve the quality of education for our children.

“We will ensure that all unemployed trained teachers shall be employed in order to improve the quality of education for our children”

Speaking at Nyayo Stadium during a colorful evening event, he also pledged to ensure that every child has access to education through his ambitious free ‘Waste No Child’ program.

It will also apply to college, university, and vocational training students.

He stated that one option would be to recognize prior learning certification for qualified artisans. This would provide them with more work and access to government contracts.

“We will provide free education from ECD, primary and secondary to university including tertiary colleges,” Raila said.

According to the Azimio leader, children in early childhood development classes and lower primary will be entitled to one nutritious free meal under the program.

The frequency was not specified in the manifesto.

The government is currently implementing free universal primary education and subsidized secondary education.

Loans are available to university students to help them pay for their education.
