Principal Collapse, Dies On Her Way To School
Shitoto Girls Secondary School in Mumias East, Kakamega County, is in a gloomy mood after its principal collapsed and died on her way to school.
Her son, Edgar Akwabi, told Citizen Digital that the late Lily Mbati, who was diabetic, was in good spirits the night before.
“I spoke to mum on the phone and encouraged her to take her medication, as usual, to which she replied in the affirmative,” Akwabi said.
Neighbors later called him in the morning to tell him that his mother had collapsed on her way to work.
Ruth Musafu, Mbati’s deputy, remembered her late boss as a dependable, dedicated servant leader who enjoyed teaching.
“We are all going to miss her dearly.” We pray for grace as we mourn our beloved principal,“ Musafu said.
Mbati was the only Home Science teacher at the school. As they prepare for national exams, the institution has asked the Ministry of Education to look into the matter.
The deceased’s body was taken to the St Mary’s Mission Hospital Mortuary.
