Migingo Girls Deputy Principal Murdered by Son
Roseline Atieno Nyawada, the Deputy Principal of Migingo Girls High School, was discovered dead at her home on Sunday, August 21st, casting a pall over the village of Migingo in Kadibo Sub-County.
Roseline’s son is the main suspect in the murder case, according to a statement issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
According to the police, the tutor’s body was discovered by the suspect’s brother, who had gone to see her at the school’s staff quarters.
The brother’s attempts to gain entry were futile because the door was locked from the inside.
A few minutes later, the 27-year-old suspect opened the door, prompting the brother to rush inside to check on his mother.
He did, however, come across his mother’s charred remains in the bathroom.
The brother went inside the house right away, looking for his mother in the living room and bedroom to no avail.
But as he approached the bathroom, he came across his mother’s charred remains.
A few minutes later, he heard some movement from inside the house, and the suspect eventually opened the door.“
With apprehension on his brother’s face, his intuition told him that something was wrong.
He immediately entered the house, searching in vain for his mother in the living room and bedroom.
"However, as he approached the bathroom, he stumbled upon the charred remains of his dear mother,” police said.
Rabuor police officers responded immediately after being notified of the incident.
The officers found paraffin in a mug and noted that the bathroom’s walls were blackened with smudge soot. Roseline’s son is suspected of dousing her in paraffin and setting her ablaze, according to the police.

A kitchen knife and a lantern lamp with an open knob were also recovered from the scene.
All of the recovered items have been preserved as exhibits.
Detectives confirmed that the deceased’s body had been moved to a county morgue pending autopsy.
In addition, the son was apprehended and taken in for processing while awaiting his arraignment.
