Teachers Raise Alarm Over The High Rate Of Deaths Of Principals in Nyamira County.

Principals from Nyamira County have raised alarm over the recent increase of deaths of principals which they said was linked to management stress occasioned by strained Government funding.

“We have been losing principals at a high rate of death. Many principals have died, and we were trying to imagine what is the cause of deaths that has come to principals in 2020/2021? Is it corona or something else?

“But I think there is a lot of stress that principals are going through. Some of them are collapsing and dying because of the kind of pressure that they are going through.” Said a principal during the burial ceremony of their colleague.

“The other day a principal died in Kisii who had worked so well but at night when he was sleeping he just slept and never woke up the following morning.” Said one of the principal.” Another principal from the county said.

“We have given proposals that capitation money right from primary secondary and university should be increased because the little money which is given has made most principals including those in primary and the leadership of universities say how much stressed they are.” Said the Nyamira Woman representative Jerusha Momanyi.
