Form One Treks More Than 60km To Seek Admission.Moses Oduor, a 16-year-old boy from Matayos Constituency in Busia County, stunned many after walking more than 60 kilometers from Busia County to Bungoma County to seek admission to Teremi Boys’ High School in Kabuchai Constituency.Oduor took his KCPE exam at Mundika Primary School in Busia and received 361 points.He stated that he received a calling letter from Teremi Boys’ High School in Bungoma, but his mother was unable to raise the funds for him to attend the school, and that his father, who was the sole breadwinner for the family, divorced his mother, leaving them without financial support.“I decided to walk since I could not even raise money for bus fare,” he explained to journalists upon arrival. He wore his former primary school inform and was in slippers.Oduor stated that his goal is to attend university so that he can help his family, and he asked well-wishers to intervene and assist him in raising funds for his secondary education.“Immediately I joined class one. My dream was to join Teremi Boys’ High School. I am very optimistic that someone will come out and help me,” he said.According to Dr. Elphas Luvaso, the boy arrived at the school around 12noon without any admission materials.
