Mr Wachiuri stated that the Tvet program will be expanded to all 47 counties, up from the current 14 counties.

According to Mr Wachiuri, a Higher Education Loans Board study shows that Tvets graduates have 96% employment prospects compared to 40% for university graduates.

Optiven, through its foundation, joined the government’s efforts to improve opportunities for students graduating from secondary and high schools through the Soaring Eagles Scholarship Program (SESP).

The increase in the number of students enrolled in technical institutions from 55,000 in 2013 to over 288,000 today demonstrates that Kenya is ready to reap the benefits of technical education.

The Optiven Foundation and its partners are eager to achieve SDG 4 on quality education, which aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

The end result is that tvet graduates sharpen their skills in preparation for the local, regional, and global markets.

Furthermore, the Optiven Foundation will provide support for tvet training as part of a comprehensive plan to impact individuals with skills in areas such as sports, music, and games.
