Students Riot As Form 2 Girl Dies In School.

Over 400 students from Pemwai Girls Secondary School in Baringo Central Sub County are on strike following the death of a Form Two student on Sunday morning.
The deceased, from Mosoriot town in Nandi County, is said to have died as a result of frequent nose bleeds at school.
According to reports, the girls were protesting the school administration, accusing them of laxity because the student had been sick at school for some time.
According to a group of students who did not want to be identified, the principal, Lorna Tuitoek, has denied the girl access to specialized medical care.
“Despite teachers trying to get the girl get better medication elsewhere, the principal refused all efforts,” some students said.
The girls had to trek five kilometers through Tereben and Chebartikon forest, risking their lives in order to demand justice for the girl.
When they arrived in Kabarnet town, they screamed and wailed, demanding to be addressed by the county director of education.

Police in Kabarnet were dispatched to quell the situation, and they were able to keep the students at Kabarnet Stadium in the cold.
According to sources, the school nurse has allegedly been providing poor services to the girls, and learning in the institution is currently paralyzed.
