St Anne’s Kiriari Girls School Fire Leaves 92 Students Stranded.
A massive fire broke out in a dormitory at St Anne’s Kiriari Girls Secondary in Embu County on Wednesday, destroying property worth millions of shillings.
The fire broke out while the students were in morning preps and caused extensive property damage.
Mattresses, beds, books, and other belongings of the students were destroyed.
When firefighters arrived at the school, they discovered that the dormitory had been destroyed.
No one was hurt in the incident, which caused students and teachers to panic.
Embu North Deputy County Commissioner William Owino stated that investigations would be conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
He claimed that 92 girls were left homeless.
Anyone connected to the fire would be arrested and prosecuted, according to the administrator.
“We would like to know what happened and if it is established that it is arson, then legal action will be taken against the culprits,” he said.
Residents described how they used soil and water in vain to fight the fire.
