School Bus Struck And Kill Suspected Robbers

Two suspected thieves were struck and killed by a school bus in the Tiwi Sikoni district of Kwale County on Wednesday, mere moments after allegedly stealing a cellphone from an M-Pesa business.

According to police accounts, while fleeing the crime scene on a motorcycle, the suspects drove into oncoming traffic without considering the danger.

This proved costly, as their motorcycle was struck by a secondary school bus traveling from Msambweni to Likoni.

Both robbers perished on the scene, whilst the passengers of the bus fled unharmed.

“They sped off when locals started chasing after them. They then rode into the highway without checking whether there was an oncoming vehicle and immediately got hit by the bus,” Matuga police boss Hassan Godana told the press.

The two unidentified bodies have already been transferred to the Kwale hospital mortuary.

In Kwale, it is usual for robbers to flee on motorbikes, with mobile money businesses being the preferred targets.
