Molo Academy, Litein Boys Closed as Tenges Boys High Schools Go On Rampage

Molo Academy Boys and Litein Boys High school have been closed indefinitely following rising students unrest.

Tenges Boys High School in Baringo students went on Rampage Monday morning to join other schools that had reported incidents over the weekend.

The students on strike walked more than 15 kilometres from their school to Kabarnet town to have their complaints heard.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the students caused havoc on their way to Kabarnet town early Monday morning.

As they chanted solidarity songs, the students pelted vehicles with stones along the Kabarnet-Kasoiyo-Tenges routes.

The students were directed to Kabarnet Stadium by county education and security officers to address their complaints. After accusing their principal, Mr Paul Busienei, of failing to run their school, the students demanded his removal.

This follows a fire yesterday at Buruburu Girls High School and Chavakali High School. Keveye Girls students had earlier addressed the media, accusing their principal of embezzling funds.

A dormitory at Nyandema High School in Nyatike, Migori County, burned down Saturday night.
