Githunguri Secondary Teacher accused of assaulting school girl for refusing his sexual advances
A student at Kandara’s Githunguri Secondary School is seeking justice after allegedly being assaulted by her teacher for declining his sexual advances.
The girl (whose name has been withheld because she is a minor) stated that the deputy principal has been attempting to persuade her to have a sexual relationship with him for months, but she has consistently declined his advances. He beats and punishes her for no apparent reason, she claims, whenever she declines the teacher’s advances.
The student also revealed that the teacher had threatened to kill her if she disclosed the behaviour to anyone.
“The teacher has been beating me and giving me punishments for failing to give in to his demands,” she said.
The student, on the other hand, decided to reveal the truth after the teacher beat her unconscious before being rushed to the hospital.
“He wanted to touch my breasts and I defended myself with the hand and he hit me,” she said.
Following the incident, the teacher asked her not to tell her parents about it. She, on the other hand, opened up about her problems after her mother noticed she was in pain and had injuries in her arms as a result of the teacher’s beatings.
Since then, the mother has obtained a medical report from the hospital and reported the incident to the Kansara police station.
The mother also revealed that her daughter has not been attending school because she is afraid the teacher will kill her because she has revealed her dirty secrets.
The family is now requesting that the Ministry of Education intervene in the matter.
