KeNHA Scholarships For KCSE D Students, How to Apply

Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced scholarships for students who received D- or lower in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

The agency stated in a notice released on Tuesday, February 22, and seen by Kenyans.co.ke that it was looking for students for the Kitale and Eldoret Town Bypass roads project.

KeNHA has designated three technical training colleges where students will be trained. Kaiboi Technical Training Institute, Vera College, and Kitale Vocational Training Center are among them.

Welding and Fabrication, Electrical Wireman, Motor Vehicle mechanics, Agricultural Engineering, Hairdressing, Electrical and Electronics Technology, Fashion Design, Masonry and Carpentry are among the courses available.

“The Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) programme will be implemented by a team of local selected technical and vocational training institute with Uasin Gishu County and Trans Nzoia County.

“The aim of this scholarship is to support a capacity development process during the project period that will assist the youth and people living with disabilities to be considered for training,” read the notice in part.

The scholarship will cover tuition, boarding fees, and a stipend for the students.

How to Apply

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, with no formal education beyond the Diploma level.

They must also be able to read and write and live in informal settlements.

Interested candidates should download the application forms from the KeNHA website and fill them out before submitting them to the designated offices.


The notice stated that “applications shall be received through the offices of the County Commissioners Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, or KeNHA Regional offices in North Rift.”

Applications will be evaluated against key indicators, followed by a physical presentation/vetting interview for those who meet the basic criteria.

Scholarships will be awarded based on a comparative evaluation of the applications received, the requirements met, and the merit criteria established in collaboration with other government agencies.

The names of the successful candidates will then be made public.
