At 9.30 p.m., Nyamira South sub-county police commander Moses Kirong received a phone call informing him that Onyoni had been found unconscious in her bedroom at 7 p.m.

Kirong stated that after a postmortem, they will release a definitive report on the cause of the principal’s death.

Nyamira Deputy Governor James Gesami paid a visit to Rangenyo Girls to express his condolences to the school community.

He described the death as unexpected and tragic, and he urged students to remain calm as investigations into the incident began.

Faith Kiprono, the director of education for Nyamira South sub-county, who accompanied Gesami, said Kenya Red Cross officers were on standby to provide counseling to students and staff at the school.

Margaret Raini, the chairperson of the School Board of Management, warned parents and the community not to believe misinformation from untrustworthy sources about the cause of the principal’s death.

She reassured parents and other stakeholders that their children are in good hands and will be cared for by both teaching and non-teaching personnel.
