Ossen Girls High School Elevated To National Status
Ossen Girls High School in Baringo County has been given national status by the Ministry of Education as a result of its outstanding performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) last year.
The government granted the girl school in Baringo North the status after it consistently performed well in prior national exams, according to Director General for Ministry of Education Paul Kibet, who made the announcement during the school’s thanksgiving ceremony.
The school’s mean score increased from 5.6 in 2020 to 7.6 this year.
Kibet praised the school’s administration for an increase in performance and promised that the government would follow suit by enhancing the infrastructure.
Stanley Kiptis, the governor of Baringo, thanked the federal government for designating the school as a national institution, saying that this will help the county’s educational system.

To encourage student unity, the government established the elevation of every two schools to the national level.

In the KCSE exams in 2021, Ossen Girls High School scored impressively. The school received a C+ with a mean grade of 7.418 points (plus)
A total of 82 of the 101 candidates who took the 2021 KCSE exams achieved the grade needed for direct university entry. Direct entry represents 81.18812 percent of this.
