ABOUT THE ROLE
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Teach and deliver exceptional, real-world, enquiry-based Kiswahili lessons that align with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
- Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with students, their families and colleagues.
- Develop lessons plans and partner with the Learning Design Team in reviewing and updating lessons when required/ desired.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students and maintain an organized and focused learning environment.
- Infuse joy and passion for learning in lessons so that students are excited and interested in their academic excellence.
- Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for the growth and success of all students, both in academic and cultural expectations.
- Be accountable for student's mastery of content and academic standards.
- Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
- Set and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide effective student feedback so they internalize them.
- Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behaviour and model expected behaviour at all times for students to emulate

ABOUT THE ROLE
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.
- Plan and execute appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
- Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning and motor-skill activities, and safety.
- Observe and evaluate each child’s progress and provide a written report to the Principal through line manager(s) and other school leaders and parents.
- Monitor and keep record/ reports of the children’s progress and development.

- Supervise professional development routines and activities across the school

- Quickly identify and respond to classroom/school culture or behaviour issues
- Collect, analyze, share and interpret internal and external school assessment data and ensure that data is used strategically to improve student academic performance
- Oversee planning, execution and analysis of intervention programs targeted at the needs of diverse academic subgroups, whether remedial or enrichment
- Lead instruction sessions for parents
- Follow up with the Learning Design team on teachers’ feedback on lesson plans
- Coordinate with the Academic Support team on the availability of learning materials and teaching resources.
ABOUT YOU
- You have 2+ years of experience in instructional leadership and/or coaching experience in a rigorous high expectations lower and/or upper primary school setting.
- You have your TSC number and certificate.
- You have a minimum qualification of a P1 Diploma in Education; a Degree in Education is desirable.
- You are widely recognised as a highly effective teacher and can model what great, inquiry-based teaching looks like.
