Magoha Directs Schools To Conduct Learning Under Trees As Rwanda Concludes Construction Of 20000 Classrooms Ahead 2021 Reopening

Education Cabinet Secretary Profesor George Magoha directs school heads to use tree shades as classrooms to manage the social distance.

He asked teachers to be innovative to realize Social Distance when school reopens next week in January.

This comes even as the Rwandan Government finalize the construction of over 20,000 countrywide due to social distancing condition.

“The ongoing countrywide school construction of the Rwanda Quality Basic Education for Human Development project phase 1 is at 81% on one-story classrooms, 85% for latrines and 45% for G+1,” Rwanda Ministry of Education in August said through a tweet.

G+1 are structures that are double storied classroom blocks.

The Ministry of Education announced the overall advancement of Phase 2 that started in June is concluded countrywide.

To curb congestion and long distances covered by students traveling to and returning from schools, the Ministry of Education in June began on a plan to build 22,505 classrooms.

The Rwandan Government is forthwith ready for the 2021 education program with adequate space.
