Govt Disburse School Fees For Free Education.Professor George Magoha, Cabinet Secretary for Education, has confirmed that school fees for free education have already been disbursed for the first term, which begins on Monday.According to Magoha, 19.9 billion shillings are in school accounts to cover free day secondary education and free primary education programs.When announcing the 2021 KCSE results on Saturday, Magoha stated that the ministry is committed to ensuring the smooth operation of schools when they reopen.He also asked principals not to send students home for nonpayment of fees.16.9 billion shillings have been set aside from the funds for free day secondary education, while 3 billion shillings have been set aside for the free primary education program.“We once again urge the teachers to tighten up their belts as they admit the 1.2 million learners to their schools. ALSO READ:“It is our determination as a commission to ensure that the 100 per cent transition policy succeeds in guaranteeing all children their basic right to education,” said TSC CEO Ms Macharia.Jwan stated that more than Sh19 billion in capitation funds have been released to schools ahead of the reopening of schools next week.“I plead with principals especially in boarding schools to treat the parents gently so that learners do not waste time at home bearing in mind that we are going to have a fairly short year.
