DCI Arrests 17-year-Old Student Who Torched A Dormitory At Kiambere Secondary School




Following the torching of a dormitory at Kiambere Sec. School, detectives have on Monday 25th Janu 2021, arrested the main suspect a 17-year-old male juvenile.

According to the DCI, the suspect was arrested following an identification parade, after detectives discovered that he had prior to the incident, sent a pupil at from a neighbouring primary school to buy him a matchbox.




“The suspect is cooperating well with our investigators and so far, he has revealed names of nine other students with whom they executed the treacherous act.” Said the DCI through their Twitter account.

 




The students all aged between 15 and 19 have been placed in custody at Kiritiri Police Station and will be arraigned at Siakago Law Courts on Tuesday 26th of January, to answer to their crimes.

While revealing this, the DCI cautioned other students harbouring similar intentions to seek alternative problem-solving mechanisms, as opposed to wanton destruction of property.




“Meanwhile, detectives are under firm instructions to take the requisite lawful action against any student, suspected to be involved in any criminal activities.” Read a tweet from DCI.

 

DCI CAUTION TO ALL STUDENTS!

“This Is To, Once Again, Warn Every Student From Primary School, Secondary School, College And University That The Directorate Of Criminal Investigations Is Archiving and Consolidating Charges That May Be Preferred To Each And Every Student Involved In Any Crime.




“Let Each Student Be Informed That It Will Automatically Be Reflected On The Police Clearance Certificate (Certificate Of Good Conduct) When Such Student Will

Apply For One. This Will Be A Permanent Criminal Mark That Will Bar Many Students From Achieving Their Goals As No Employer Of Worth Will Dare Employ Such Characters.




“The Crimes include Armed And Unpeaceful Demos, Arson, Drugs, Cyber Bullying, Assault of Any Degree, Drunkenness or Any Reported Crime Of Any Kind. This Is To Warn The Students And To Ask Parents, Guardians, Teachers And Religious Leaders To Take Note And Advise Them Accordingly.”
