According to CS Magoha, “Telegram” is a new method of exam cheating.

Candidates have devised a new method of cheating by using Telegram, a mobile-based application, according to Education CS George Magoha.

Magoha stated that they are on the lookout for exam cheaters. “It’s unfortunate to say that the examination cartels are very active on Telegram.” “We’re keeping a close eye on things,” he said.

Candidates have devised a new method of cheating by using Telegram, a mobile-based application, according to Education CS George Magoha.

The CS spoke on Thursday at Star of the Sea Girls’ Secondary School in Mombasa during the commissioning of Competency-Based Curriculum classrooms.

Magoha stated that they typically encounter cheating issues during the second paper of each subject.

“I’d like to warn the few center managers who might be tempted to open the papers and share them on Telegram that we’re waiting for them.” “Try it if you don’t like your job or your life,” he said.

The CS stated that the Ministry of Education will further consult on when the containers containing examinations should be opened.

He stated that some unscrupulous individuals usually want to take advantage of the time when those containers are opened to sneak out examination papers.

Magoha stated that schools located near examination depots can be given the papers 15 minutes early. This is in place of the previous one-hour period before the official start of the paper.

“No one is going to be able to tamper with this examination.” We are keeping a close eye on those who believe they know what we are up to. “The papers that are being circulated on Telegram are fake,” he stated.

The CS stated that they have finalized plans to ensure that all candidates, including those from remote areas such as Kerio Valley, Marsabit, and Lamu, sit for their examination.

“Those who are concerned that their children will be disadvantaged should know that the government has ensured that every child will be given an exam at the appropriate time,” he said.

According to Magoha, the government has identified specific schools that will serve as boarding schools for these groups of children.

He stated that the government will ensure that all children are accounted for. Their transport to schools and food program catered for the entire exams period.

“In the previous exam, I had to walk for about two kilometers to look for a missing child in school, and this will happen again,” the CS said.

According to Magoha, the construction of 10,000 CBC classrooms is currently at 80% completion.

He stated that the first phase of the project had a target of 6,470 classrooms and that more than 3,000 classrooms have been built so far. Another batch of 2,900 classrooms is nearing completion.

Meru, Garissa, Mandera, and Wajir counties have completed all of the CBC classes. Meru, on the other hand, has 264 classes.

“Now that we have to deliver, I’d like to take a chance and ask everyone else to allow the contractors to continue working till next week before KCPE exams begin,” he said.

According to the CS, this will allow classrooms that are currently at the roofing level to be completed, bringing the overall completion rate to 95%.

He stated that once the exams are completed, the ministry intends to immediately begin the second phase of the remaining classrooms.

Magoha has warned those who are politicizing the new learning curriculum that the CBC is not going away.

“Let us get politics out of this project.” “I want to emphasize once again that, as far as the government is concerned, CBC is not going anywhere because you and I believe it is good for our children,” he said.

The CS stated that when schools are closed, parents should spend time with their children and that tuition classes during the holidays are not permitted.
