Ahmed Antar, KEBS North Eastern Regional Manager, and his twin daughters left their Garissa home in the early hours of Sunday for Mombasa.
Antar was driving his twins to an interview at Mombasa’s Sheikh Khalifa Secondary School.
They had received over 400 marks in the 2021 KCPE and were hoping to gain admission to Sheikh Khalifa, a school that values academic excellence as well as a strong Islamic foundation.
Unbeknownst to them, their dreams would be dashed in a road accident on the Mombasa-Garissa Highway in Hola.
The trio visited Sheikh Khalifa, and the twins conducted the interview.
However, on their way back, Dertu division chief Mohamed Buul, who is also a close family friend, told the Standard that Antar’s car collided with a lorry, killing everyone on board.
“In total, there were five people in the vehicle because Antar had offered a lift to two more people,” Buul said.
