How To Use Upgraded NEMIS System

On Monday, August 22, outgoing Cabinet Secretary Prof George Mahoha launched an upgraded version of the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) that will allow for easier navigation.

The system, according to the CS, has been revamped to accommodate parents, teachers, and school directors.

It now performs a variety of functions, including school transfer, child performance, and school infrastructure management.

The announcement came against the backdrop of the ongoing rollout of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC), which is taking shape with Grade 6 students set to take their final exams at the end of 2022. The national exam will allow students to enroll in Junior Secondary School.

The system provides numerous benefits to our users, including, but not limited to, the implementation of new and improved processes from various directorates, such as learner transfers and school registration.

The system also seeks to improve existing system processes such as capitation management.

The system improves our users’ user experience by upgrading server infrastructure and improving system architecture “Prof. Magoha stated in a press release.

According to Prof. Magoha, parents will be able to request that their children be transferred from one school to another.

This will ensure the efficiency of the Learner Transfer Process by saving parents, school heads and principals, as well as the Directors of Education, from having to override the traditional manual transfer process.

Parents will also be able to use the NEMIS website to apply for bursaries and scholarships for their children.

How To Access NEMIS portal

You must register as a new user by going to the NEMIS website at nemis(dot)education(dot)go(dot)ke. – User name, gender, ID number, title or position held, responsibilities, email address, and mobile number will be required.

After that, you must enter a new password to complete the registration process.

Parents who sign up will also be able to remotely monitor their children’s performance from the comfort of their living room or office.

With the integration of the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), management of Learner Performance will be a real-time process, providing parents with a more accurate picture of their children’s academic progress.

Finally, parents will have an accurate representation of their children’s results at all times.
