Ministry Releases 2023 Co-Curricular Activities Dates and Venues.
The Ministry of Education has released the dates for co-curricular activities in secondary, primary, and high colleges and universities across the nation in 2023.
Between April 20 and September 3, co-curricular activities, including sports and theatrical festivals, will take place.
On April 20 to April 30, the National Drama and Film Festival will be hosted at the Shimo la Tewa High School in Mombasa County.
Between April 21 and April 25, the William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok County will host the Term One primary school athletics.
From April 21 and April 26, the Special Needs Education primary school athletics will be conducted at the Moi Forces Academy in Nairobi County.
On the same dates, the Special Needs Education secondary school athletics will take place at the Nairobi School in the capital city (April 21 to April 26).
The Hill School and Moi Girls’ High School, Eldoret, both in Uasin Gishu County, will host Term One secondary school sports (athletics, basketball, hockey, handball, and swimming) from April 22 to April 30.
Between April 22 to April 27, the Kenya Science and Engineering Congress will be hosted at the Kisumu Girls’ High School in the lakeside city of Kisumu.
From August 12 to August 23, the Kenya Music Festival is set to take place at the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology in Nyeri County.
Between August 8 and August 14, the Special Needs Education primary school ball games will take held at the Kangaru School in Embu County.
The primary school ball games for normal students will be held at Maseno School in Kisumu County on the same days.
Special Needs Education secondary school sports will also be held in Kangaru Girls’ High School in Embu County between August 8 and August 14.
The Phrase Between August 5 and August 14, two secondary school sports (football, volleyball, netball, rugby, and racquet games) will be conducted at the Kakamega High School in Kakamega County.
Murang’a Teachers’ Training College in Murang’a County, Kenya will host college athletics and the Paralympics from May 23 to May 27.
Between April 10 and April 15, college baseball games will be played at the Shanzu Teachers’ Training College in Mombasa County.
The East Africa Music, Dance, and Drama Competitions will be held in Jinja and Tororo in eastern Uganda from August 26 to September 3.
Between August 15 and August 30, the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association championship will be held in Bujumbura, Burundi.
From April to November, the East Africa Essay Writing Competition for Secondary Schools will be organized.
Principal Secretary of Basic Education Belio Kipsang notified the dates to the relevant education stakeholders, including the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), secondary school principals, and primary school head teachers.
