List Of TSC Registered Teachers From 2018 To 2022.
The Teachers Service Commission was established under Article 237(1) and (2) of the Kenyan Constitution (2010) and is mandated to carry out Teacher Management functions in the country, including the registration of trained and qualified teachers, among other things.
The Kenyan constitution of 2010 requires the Teachers Service Commission to register trained and qualified teachers before they are employed in both public and private institutions.
Bachelor of Science or Arts degree holders who have completed a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) and two teaching subjects are eligible for registration.
Pursuant to TSC Act 2012 Section 24(1) the Commission is Mandated to keep a Register of Teachers shall be made public documents.
The Teachers Service Commission wishes to publish the names of teachers registered.

Applicants for registration who have received training in subjects that are currently NOT on the curriculum do not qualify, regardless of whether they have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement.
This category includes but not limited to Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in:
– Natural resources
– Meteorology
– Forestry
– Animal husbandry
– Horticulture
– Farm machinery
– Fisheries
– Anthropology
– Sociology
– Theology/Divinity
– Journalism
– Kiswahili and Communication
– Business Management / Administration
– Banking and Finance
– Genomics
– Actuarial Science
– Environmental Science
– Criminology
– Biotechnology and Agriculture
– All Courses related to Engineering
– Industrial Chemistry
– Biochemistry
– Hospitality and tourism
– Foods , Nutrition and Dietetics
– Technology and Applied Biology
– Microbiology etc.
Those who have undertaken a PGDE with these courses are NOT eligible for
registration as teachers.
These courses do not provide sufficient subject content and therefore the mastery of the content in two teaching subjects is not adequate as required.

Pursuant to TSC Act 2012 section 24(1) the Commission is mandated to keep
a Register of Teachers which shall be made a public document.

Service Commission has published the names of teachers registered between

In the 4th quarter ending 30th June 2019, the Commission received more applications from
female (9,472) with a percentage of 57.68% applicants compared to the males (6,950) with 42.32% as illustrated in the pie chart below;

The Commission received a total of 16,122 applications in the 4th quarter. Kakamega recorded the highest number of applications while Garissa County had the least with only 19 applications.

Under Article (237(2) of the Constitution, the Commission is mandated to
undertake the following functions:
a) register-trained teachers;
b) recruit and employ registered teachers;
c) assign teachers employed for service in any public school or institution;
d) promote and transfer teachers;
e) exercise disciplinary control over teachers and
f) Terminate the employment of teachers.
ALSO READ:
The Constitution further charges the Commission with the responsibility of
reviewing the standards of education and training of persons entering the
teaching service;
Reviewing the demand for and the supply of teachers; And
Advising the national government on matters relating to the teaching
profession.
