Sossion Reveals How Uhuru Forced His Resignation, Not Raila

Wilson Sossion, a nominated MP, denied reports that he stated his feud with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

On Saturday, January 15, Sossion noted that he has never mentioned Raila in any of his rallies.

According to previous reports, Sossion slammed Raila for failing to protect teachers from government interference, forcing the former KNUT boss to resign.

Wilson Sossion, former Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), has slammed President Uhuru Kenyatta for interfering with civil societies and unions.

On Thursday, January 13, Sossion addressed mourners at the burial of Kebeneti Secondary School principal Joel Mutai in Belgut, Kericho County.
He bemoaned the fact that he resigned from KNUT in June 2021 after being dissatisfied with Uhuru’s alleged dictatorial policies.

“Uhuru promised children laptops and he brought us a fraudulent curriculum called Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). This is a business entity.

“A good curriculum must be understood by teachers, learners, and parents as well. It must be exciting and inspiring. It cannot be frustrating.”

Sossion also expressed concerns to Uhuru’s government, claiming that it is repressive and stifles civil society organizations.

He noted that civil societies and labor unions are extinct and no one is speaking on Kenyans’ behalf.

They now want to finish political parties through the Political Parties Amendment Bill,” Sossion raged, referring to a bill passed by the National Assembly that would allow coalition parties to form.

“That is why I joined UDA and I am now supporting Deputy President William Ruto for the presidency,” Sossion, who resigned as KNUT boss in June 2021 vouched for the DP.
