KNUT, KUPPET have threatened to withdraw teachers from Kapedo over insecurity. Over recent days, there has been rising tensions in the region following bandits attacks and counter operations to flash out gangs in the border areas of Baringo and Turkana Counties.
At least 10 people have already died in 7 days with hundreds of households forced to decamp their homes fretting for their lives. Police forces and bandits have battled since last week when an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) was ignited by gunmen in an ambush in Kasarani area of Turkana.
KNUT and KUPPET have threatened to withdraw their members from the area. They have given an ultimatum to the government to return peace in the region within one week.
