KNEC Releases Grade Six CBC Exams Guidelines.

The Kenya National Exams Council (KNEC) has issued guidelines for the Grade Six exam, which is scheduled for November.

KNEC Chief Executive Officer, David Njegere, stated in a statement to school heads dated Tuesday, June 5, that candidates will take a School-Based Assessment (SBA) test in their home institutions, which will be graded by their teachers.

The evaluation results will then be uploaded to the portal, and they will be able to register for the national exam.

Njerege went on to say that the students will take five exams: Mathematics and English on the first day, Integrated Science and Kiswahili on the second, and Creative Arts and Social Studies on the third.

Notably, schools will be expected to provide learners with materials needed for practical evaluations, requiring schools to improve some of their existing resources.

The teachers will grade the students’ responses and award them marks, which will be uploaded to the KILEA portal by the KNEC deadline.

The marking will be done with the resources that are available, and the results will be released in accordance with the guidelines that have been established.

Except for Composition and Kiswahili, the KPSEA exams will be graded electronically because they are multiple choice.

Furthermore, the KNEC president stated that the examination body will upload sample KILEA papers to the portal by July 15, 2022, to help instructors become acquainted with the process.
