KNEC Issues 2023 Candidate’s Registration Deadline

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) opened the portal for the 2023 candidate’s registration on February 1, 2023.

The registration process will last until March 30, 2023. All the necessary information ae available on the KNEC website.

The announcement comes just a week after the Ministry of Education adjusted the 2023 primary and secondary school calendar, which saw changes in school opening and closing dates, as well as national examination dates.

According to the new school calendar, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams will take place from October 30 to November 2, 2023.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will then start on November 3 and end on November 24.

The half-term break for learners will start on March 16 and end on March 19. Schools will then close for the long holiday on April 22, 2023.

When students return from their two-week break, they will resume for a 14-week long Term Two, with a half-term break from June 29 to July 2.

The third term will begin on August 28 and run up to October 27, without any breaks.

The KCPE and KPSEA exams will take four days while the KCSE examination period will last three weeks.

The marking of the KCSE exams will start on November 27 and end on December 15.

In conclusion, the KNEC’s announcement of the 2023 candidate’s registration process and the Ministry of Education’s adjustment of the 2023 school calendar will allow students to plan their study and examination schedules accordingly.

It is imperative that students are well-informed of these changes so that they can prepare adequately and aim for successful results.
